During the root canal treatment, the dentist will remove the infected pulp inside the tooth. They will then clean and disinfect the tooth, before shaping the root canal with specialised tools and placing a Filling inside the open space to seal the tooth.
In certain instances, the dentist may be unable to complete a root canal on the same day, and you may have to return for a second appointment. In this case, you will receive a temporary filling to protect the tooth between appointments. If your tooth is significantly damaged, you may also require a crown fitting.
Root canal treatment has a very high success rate, and once the dentist has repaired your tooth, it can last a lifetime with proper oral care. We also accept referrals for repeat root canal treatment where the previous attempt has failed for any reason.
There are no restrictions with regards to dental treatment and you are actively encouraged to keep your appointments.
